I'm the owner of Headway Recruitment. A recruitment firm that solves hiring challenges for purpose-led organisations. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my 3 children. I also love sporting challenges and travel, ideally combining both! My favourite trip has to be my visit to Nepal, trekking to Everest base camp in 2019.

April Barlow

April has been working at Headway since 2013 after graduating from Leeds Beckett University in Marketing and Advertising Management. Based in our Leeds city centre office, she co-manages the temporary division. She also uses her marketing knowledge to manage our social media pages.

April states that she still gets “that same buzz when helping people find a new job” as she did when she made her very first placement.

April’s psychometric profile is DI. Those with the DI style tend to be decisive and energised by ideas. They favour action over analysis and look to the big picture over details. This reflects completely April’s dedication to helping the business grow and helping us be a recognised and respected brand.

Of her profile, April says: “I definitely don’t struggle to make decisions and I always look at the bigger picture and “take a step back” from situations in order to judge them properly. Sally Criddle

Sally joined Headway in 2017 as our business development consultant. An opportunity to jump onto the recruitment desk resulted in the move to consultant and then in 2019 Branch Manager at our Saltaire Branch.

With a solid background in sales and business development Sally is passionate about “making a difference whether it be for a client, candidate or team member”.

Sally’s psychometric profile is Si. Those with the Si profile are also known as counsellors, being warm, social and highly interactive with others. We think that this describes Sally perfectly, and she agrees: “I would say that this is truly me, I love a good catch up no matter if it’s a personal or professional gathering. I’m the team mum, and happy to be the butt of jokes around my quirky ways! I’m extremely lucky to have a great team of people who are as committed as I am to make a difference to the lives of clients and candidates”.

Outside of work, Sally has a love of food and cooking. Her kitchen is the place where she unwinds and decides on which recipe will be on the supper menu from the groaning bookcase full of cookbooks!

Natalie Mountain

Payroll and Accounts Manager

Natalie joined Headway in 2017 and is our payroll and accounts manager. Her role consists of weekly payroll for our temps, our sales and purchase ledger and generally keeping a tight grip on the Headway purse strings. Natalie’s background is diverse, having worked in children’s parties at McDonalds, to Management Information and accounting.

Natalie’s psychometric profile is Cd. She likes accuracy, and focusses on logical thinking to find the best solutions. Natalie agrees with this entirely, saying “this is pretty much me, I don’t like making mistakes and like to get things right first time (no one wants to redo something over and over right?)”.


Annabel Lewis

Branch Manager

Annabel has been working for Headway since 2004 . She manages the Leeds branch and works in the permanent division where she has built many long lasting and strong relationships with her client base.

She loves working with people and is dedicated to providing the best levels of service to both her candidates and clients. Annabel enjoys “working within a team that assists one another on a daily basis in order to achieve the best results for our candidates and clients.”

Annabel’s psychometric profile is Influence and Steady (IS). Those with this profile prioritise collaboration and enjoy being in a team wherever possible. They want everyone to feel included and spend time and energy getting others involved. Annabel’s profile mirrors her enthusiasm for her job, and the fact that she brings a positive attitude to the relationships she shares with her colleagues and clients. When asked about her role within Headway, Annabel said:

Outside of work, Annabel loves being around people and is usually the one tasked with organising social gatherings, parties and holidays to far-flung destinations.

 

Beth Hancock

Beth joined the Headway team in 2020, working in the temporary division within the Leeds branch.

Beth enjoys supporting her candidates and clients, providing an excellent service and finding solutions. Beth enjoys “building relationships – I love being part of a client or candidates’ journey!”

Beth’s psychometric profile is Driver (D). Those with a D style are results-orientated, driven and enjoy working towards targets. They enjoy competition and juggling a variety of projects. Beth said “I would agree. I am driven and have always been competitive. I like to push myself to continuously develop. I really enjoy being part of such a fantastic, driven team here at Headway- everyone is working hard to achieve success for our candidates and clients. It’s great to be supported and work together!”

Outside of work, Beth enjoys cooking and is always experimenting with Asian-style recipes!
