One of our clients, with whom we have enjoyed a very long-standing relationship, was looking for a part-time HR Officer for a maternity cover. They advertised their vacancy but had only been able to shortlist 2 suitable candidates.

They contacted a specialist HR agency but also put in a call to Headway Recruitment as they knew that we would quickly grasp their requirements. We knew their organisation so they would not be involved in lengthy explanations about the company, facilities, benefits and culture.

A quick call to us to explain what they were looking for, followed up by an email to confirm the hours, start date and duration and a copy of the job description and we were ready to go.

Within 48 hours we had sourced and interviewed 2 excellent candidates. Our client had managed to source a third candidate themselves so just had one interview slot available. They asked us to recommend our strongest candidate, which we did and she got the job!

Afterwards, our client did admit that they should have come to us first. They spent a great deal of costly time and effort on trying to source staff themselves which, in real terms, would be more expensive than the fee for our services.
